It does not take long to realize Renee Behr lives to love others and her community in a way that makes a difference. Wife to Ed Behr and mom of three grown children, Renee is co-owner of a successful real estate business, founder of “A Daughter’s Heart, an active volunteer in her church, and an advocate for the community of Colorado Springs.
For over 30 years, Renee’s service to Colorado Springs has gone above the norm. She believes the “family feel” of Colorado Springs makes it a truly special place to live. Renee is passionate about having a positive influence by serving on the Board of Governors with the Chamber, working with Young Life, and being a Salvation Army bell-ringer.
Twenty-one years ago, Renee founded “A Daughter’s Heart,” a nonprofit with the primary purpose of helping foster the relationship between fathers and daughters. Under her leadership, A Daughter’s Heart helps create special memories for over 1,800 dads and daughters each year. For this special work, Renee was nominated for the Athena award in 2016.
Through their welcoming and giving spirit, gift of hospitality, and genuine desire to serve others, Renee and her husband Ed open their home to many community events throughout the year such as summer volleyball parties, backyard concerts featuring local bands, and the annual Black and White Christmas party. As a couple, they serve as role models on how to work together and create of sense of community within their home.
Whether serving the community, spending time with family and friends, or hiking in the great Colorado outdoors, Renee lives her life through her motto of “Live to Love.”
