MY FIRST EXPOSURE TO TRACY was at a dinner party this past September in Manitou, where our host said, “I must show you my collection of beautiful Tracy Miller originals.” Captivated by the bright colors and happy to learn Tracy was a local artist, I reached out to learn more for this edition of Shop Local.
After college, Tracy cut her teeth working at a gallery in downtown Denver, learning valuable knowledge and insight into the business of the art world. Six years ago, after already establishing herself with a successful line of hand painted silks, Tracy married her art talents with her business acumen and opened her Manitou Springs gallery.

“I’ve been an artist my entire life, originally painting on silk. This was a great avenue for many years and I loved that time of my life, but missed painting on canvas,” says Tracy. “In 2008, I changed mediums and started creating my own collection of very colorful animals after brushing up on my abstract skills. These paintings brought me immediate success, in large part due to the bright colors I was accustomed to using in my silk work.”
Tracy’s Manitou Springs gallery is a whole new take on the western vernacular of art. Now showcasing 23 artists, you will find paintings that honor the west, but do it by using beautiful colors that are expressive and stylistic.
This year Tracy’s brought back a popular tradition with her artists, called the “Holiday 100,” where her artists create works starting at $100. This is a first come, first serve event in December and pieces go quick due to the popularity.
